Tehnicki prevodi

Technical translation is a type of specialized translation involving the translation of documents produced by technical writers (owner's manuals, user guides, etc.), or more specifically, texts which relate to technological subject areas or texts which deal with the practical application of scientific and technological information.

The high level of precision which marks engineering distinguishes engineering translation from translation of other fields of knowledge. Inaccurate and poor quality translation of technical specifications, a patent, or an operation manual may not only undermine the corporate image and the brand of a company – it could be outright dangerous and expose the company to unforeseen liabilities.
Poor technical translation can lead to system failure, damaged equipment or even worse. Just imagine what an incorrect translation of safety or grounding instructions would mean to a technician whose job is to maintain high voltage electrical systems. A good technical translator must not only possess an excellent command of both the source and target languages, but also an in-depth understanding of the subject matter and its terminology.
